9/25 Wrightsville Beach Bottom Fishing

Sunday, October 03, 2010

We had Mike and Crew from Jacksonville in town for some grouper fishing. We left the inlet to find conditions a little worse than expected but we took our time getting there and we weren't disappointed. I set the anchor and the baits went down. WHAM! one hook up followed shortly by another and then another with the end result of three keeper gag grouper on the deck. Not a bad start considering we had our limit in 5 minutes. we hit a few other spots looking for some different species and were greeted by hungry grouper at every spot. After pulling on as many of those as we could stand, we moved into the beach and ended the day with a couple spanish and a bunch of bluefish. It was another stellar day here at Wrightsville Beach. The grouper are chewing so come on and get you some!
