Wrightsville Beach Jigging Blackfins and Pompano Galore

Wednesday, December 31, 1969

We left wrightsville beach bright and early looking for new fishing grounds and after a two hour ride we reached our destination with not much going on. We searched around for a few hours with nothing to show for it so we headed back to some of our usual areas. It wasn't long before we were into an awesome blackfin bite. We landed eighteen in an hour on light jigging gear and it was a blast. When the tuna seemed to slow down a bit we moved to a new spot and the african pompano were chewin' along with amberjacks, grouper, and assorted other critters. The cobia were there in force as well but we only managed one along with about a dozen african pompano. It was another day for the record books jigging off Wrightsville Beach. To experience some of this nonstop action, give me a call!
