Wrightsville Beach Jigging is HOT!!!!

Saturday, April 02, 2011

Just a little update on the fishing here at Wrightsville Beach. Jigging is the name of the game right now and it is off the hook! We made it out a few days ago and the fishing was as good as you could ever want. Matt, Robert and myself left the dock about 6am headed for the promised land and once again there was no disappointment when we arrived. We started the morning out looking for tuna and they were happy to oblige. After a few quick drifts we had 6 nice fat blackfins on ice. When that bite slowed we made a move inshore and it was on like donkey kong. It was a fish on every drop until you couldn't stand it anymore. We ended the day with a mixed bag of everything but the final tally that ended up in the fish box was 6 nice blackfins and 6 nice cobia one of which went 58lbs. If you want to get a crack at this give me a call! Sorry no pictures today but we were too busy catching fish!
